Tilda is a fabric brand founded by Norwegian designer Tone Finnanger in 1999, best known for whimsical naive characters and charming fabric design. There is a certain attitude to life in Tilda’s world, whimsical and romantic, like a ball gown worn with wellies – perfectly imperfect!
What you get with the Tilda Fabric club:
This soft, muted autumn winter collection is all about feeling safe, cozy and grounded in your sanctuary. The tones of caramel, rhubarb, eggplant and greygreen, with ornamental patterns combined with woodland scenes and florals, create a peaceful homey look perfect to create your ideal sanctuary.
Tilda Fabric’s Jubilee Collection are 100% cotton prints designed by Norwegian designer Tone Finnanger. This year, Tilda turns 25 and to celebrate the occasion fabric designs have been gathered from festive fabric to create the colorful Jubilee collection. Perfect for birthday and jubilee celebrations with reds and blues accompanied by teals, yellows and pinks.
Tilda Fabric’s Hibernation Collection are 100% cotton prints designed by Norwegian designer Tone Finnanger. Sleeping animals and nature motives are the theme for this year’s autumn and winter collection, Hibernation. Dusty colors such as nutty browns, hibiscus reds, blues and sage give the collection a timeless, vintage look. The simple Hibernation blenders with eucalyptus and olive branches perfectly compliment the main collection.
Tilda solids are a beautiful collection of solid fabrics that coordinate seamlessly with Tilda prints, as well as being a versatile, stand alone solid with an increasing color palette of optional hues and shades.
Tilda’s Bloomsville Collection are 100% cotton prints designed by Norwegian designer Tone Finnanger. Bloomsville is an explosion of bright colors and flowers in bloom, perfect for summer projects. The feature design Garden Vista is inspired by old chinoiseries and a sweet motif found on a vase from a factory that closed in the 1960s. Ideal for small decorative pillows, bags and fun details in a quilt. The bold flower motif of Late Bloomer takes inspiration from Indian chintz with large imaginative flowers that are easy to cut into, making the pattern work well for both large and small pieces.
These lovely quilts are quite reminiscent of floral needlepoint embroideries, recreated here using a subtle mixture of solid fabrics.
The design is made up of just squares in a single size, so there’s lots of easy cutting and sewing, although for the best result you do have to match up seams neatly when sewing the patches together.
